Hi, I’m Sharon,

the Mount Holly Dog Trainer

Hey—I'm Sharon.

And if you’ve made it to this page, I’m guessing it’s not by accident… you actually care about your dog and want things to feel better than they do right now.

That already puts you ahead of most people.

I didn’t get into dog training because I wanted perfectly obedient dogs. I got into it because I kept seeing the same thing over and over again, good owners, doing everything they were told… and still struggling.

Dogs that were “trained,” but still overwhelmed.

Owners who felt like they were constantly managing instead of actually enjoying life with their dog.

That disconnect is what pulled me in.

Because most of the time, it’s not that your dog is bad, they just don’t know how to handle the world yet.

Today, I run The Well Mannered Dog, where I help dog owners in Mount Holly, NJ and throughout Burlington County build calmer, more manageable dogs in real-life situations.

That might look like:

  • Walking past distractions without losing their mind

  • Settling at a brewery, park, or friend’s house

  • Actually listening when it matters

  • Feeling confident enough to bring your dog places

Because that’s the goal, right?

Not just a “well-trained” dog…a dog you can actually live with.

My approach isn’t drilling obedience or running through commands in your living room. (But we do start easy and build)

It’s about:

  • Helping your dog feel calmer first

  • Teaching them how to think instead of react

  • Building communication so they understand what to do in real situations

A lot of training skips that part—and that’s why it doesn’t hold up outside.

We focus on real life.

Because that’s where you actually need your dog to show up.

I’ve been working with dogs for over 14 years, from dog walking & pet sitting, to veterinary office experience, and hands-on dog training across a wide range of behavior issues

The Well Mannered Dog itself has been around for about 5 years, helping local dog owners create better day-to-day lives with their dogs.

I also stay up to date with modern training methods and continue learning—because this field is always evolving, and your dog deserves that.

Training is based out of my home in Mount Holly, NJ, where life is a little crazy in the best way. We’ve got dogs, cats, horses, a toddler…

Depending on what you need, I offer a few different ways to work together:

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or like things just aren’t clicking, you’re not alone or stuck.

This is fixable. And if you want help figuring out what that looks like for your dog, reach out and we’ll figure out the best place to start together!

My favorite people to work with want results that fit their lifestyle, not just obedience. Whether you’re a first-time dog owner or a seasoned pet parent, you deserve support with your anxious, reactive, or overexcited dog.
